Smoove & Turrell: 10 tracks for 10 years of Northern Funk

Without wishing to make anyone feel old, Smoove & Turrell are celebrating ten years of Northern Funk in 2019… Since the release of their debut record Antique Soul in 2009, the geordie duo have become a six-man funk powerhouse, releasing excellent albums and touring the country as live performers and DJs. They’ve naturally amassed tons of fond memories from life on the road, so we thought it the perfect time to tap the lads up for a 10-track playlist exploring the major tunes that have shaped their DJ sets, shaped their career as artists and given them joy along the way. Smoove & Turrell return to Band on the Wall on 14th March and you can check out their selections below. We’ve even gathered the best original cuts and alternate takes Spotify had to offer into a free-flowing playlist, so you can get into that Smoove & Turrell headspace as you go about your day.
