Mr Scruff’s record box: something moody and something juicy from DJ Waajeed

DJ and producer Waajeed aka. Jeedo hails from the fabled city of Detroit, and releases his new EP Through it All on Dirt Tech Reck shortly before his guest appearance at Keep it Unreal next month. Once a student of art who enjoyed ‘a childhood immersed in Roy Ayers, Funkadelic, and Kraftwerk’; he has made vital contributions to the music of his home city, through both his refreshing and worldly approach to house music production and his close affiliation with the renowned rap outfit Slum Village.

Ahead of his European tour and October 7th appointment with Keep it Unreal, Waajeed hit us with five deep and soulful house cuts, making for some vital pre-party listening!

Black Cock – Juicy Sushi

JEEDO: This record has been on my wish list for years! YouTube listening will do for now.

DMS – Let Me Tell You Something

JEEDO: Ladymonix mentioned this record, it’s fantastic.

Harvey Sutherland – Bermuda

JEEDO: Love this one.

Dirtytwo – Waisted

JEEDO: Quality label, quality release.

Andy Hart – Merkin
