Oysterband release politically-charged track ‘My Country Too’

Oysterband have spent 40 years on the cutting edge of folk music, never afraid of confronting political and social issues with their passionate and poetic output. The award-winning outfit, who recently announced a very special 40th anniversary UK tour this November, honourably continue in the same vein with their new release ‘My Country Too’.

‘My Country Too’ delivers, in their own words, ‘the doubts and frustrations’ of many people they have met on the road and was written following Theresa May’s decision to call a snap election last month. The band commented, ‘it felt, in a way, like a song people were wanting us to write’.

You can listen to My Country Too and read Oysterband’s full comments on the new piece on their official Facebook page here.

Oysterband’s 40th anniversary celebration tour sees the band take in dates in Leeds, Manchester, Ulverston and London, this November. Pick up your earlybird tickets here.
