Azymuth’s ‘Fênix’ given the Ron Trent treatment

Azymuth made a triumphant return late last year with Fênix, their first studio album in five years. The trio, which since the passing of José Roberto Bertrami has featured Milton Nascimento collaborator Kiko Continentino on piano and keys, recreated the energy of those spellbinding seventies’ sessions on the eleven-track collection, released via Far Out Recordings.

This week, the album’s title track was given the remix treatment by none of other than Chicago producer and DJ Ron Trent. Having paid tribute to the band in a Vinyl Factory mix last year, he’s twisted their sun-soaked fusion into a funk-come-balearic house masterpiece, fit for dancefloors the world over.

Check out the remix below and catch Azymuth, 21 years after their first Band on the Wall appearance, on 6th July at the venue.
