We’re excited to premiere the new video from Manchester rap artist J Chambers, who makes a headline appearance at Band on the Wall on 20th January ahead of the release of his new album Moment of Silence II: The Road to Perdition. J will be performing the album in its entirety, a fortnight ahead of its official release and has invited a host of up-and-coming Manchester artists to join him on the night, including Layfullstop, Dane, Lucy Mae & Wherezneek and E-Thrilla. The video accompanies the album’s introductory track and was created by Karl John.
J has invited a variety of Manchester-based artists to join him for the pre-release party. Dane is a 21 years old, alternative hip hop artist on a mission to rebrand Manchester as a musical force in the north by creating his own dark, atmopheric yet minimalistic sound. He is gearing up for a string of new releases in anticipation for a forthcoming project this summer. Manchester soulstress Layfullstop is one quarter of Cul de Sác and a unique vocalist, who uses aspects of singing and babble as a way to bring forward aspects of Soul, Jazz and Hip-Hop to the modern forefront. Manchester rapper E-Thrilla has collaborated with Dane on two recent tracks and released his mixtape To Be a Star last year. Manchester-based soul singer Lucy Mae and rapper/poet Wherezneekz collaborated on Through You in early 2016 and bring those same soul, jazz and hip hop vibes to the stage.
