Busty and the Bass’ touring playlist

Busty and the Bass are an electro-soul nine-piece, who convened at Montreal’s McGill University in 2014, winning the Rock Your Campus competition and quickly outgrowing the city’s house party scene.

Their sound is informed by modern R&B with infectious pop melodies and flavours of hip hop and reggae moulding their incisive grooves.

Ahead of their first Manchester show at Gullivers on 3rd October, they’ve made us a fantastic playlist, consisting of cutting edge R&B and a few classic songs from yesteryear, that keep them chilled as they take Europe by storm!

Tracklist:

The Internet & Kaytranada – Girl
Charlotte Day Wilson – Work
Fleetwood Mac – Go Your Own Way
Brasstracks – Telling the Truth
Tame Impala – the less I know the better
Beatles – Blue Jay Way
Rubblebucket – Down in the Yards
Miles Davis – Shhh / Peaceful
Bob Marley and the Wailers – Lively Up Yourself
Noname – Diddy Bop

“Some of our recent favourites to chill out to, that we play in the van, etc. – we love modern sounds and cutting edge producers in the r&b, hip-hop world (Kaytranada, Charlotte, Brasstracks). A great song is timeless and inspiring, and so is a band or instrumentalist with a personal sound (Beatles, Fleetwood, Miles).”
