You just can’t stop The Beat!
One of the biggest bands of the 2-Tone movement, The Beat will head out on tour this autumn to celebrate the 36th anniversary of their first ever show.
Led by Dave Wakeling, the legendary ska troupe will hit the road for a month-long trek calling in at Band on the Wall 10th September.
Formed in Birmingham in 1978, the Beat (known in North America as the English Beat) have released three albums to date, ‘I Just Can’t Stop It’, ‘Wha’ppen?’ and ‘Special Beat Service’ and are known the world over for a string of hit singles, including “Mirror in the Bathroom”, “Too Nice To Talk To”, “Can’t Get Used To Losing You”, “Hands off She’s Mine” and “All Out To Get You”. Their songs of peace, love and unity fuse ska, pop, reggae and punk rock and their dynamic live show has garnered them a loyal following at home and abroad.
Their fourth album, ‘Here We Go Love’ is being released later this year.
