Ephemerals are a London based soul collective, featuring musicians with backgrounds in soul, jazz and afrobeat groups. Their debut album “Nothin’ is Easy” was rehearsed and recorded over a four day spell, and released through their own upstart funk label, Jalapeno Records. Prior to this release they’ve had 45s released with Colemine & Mocambo, and have played gigs across Europe.
Their show here is fresh off the back of a night at Brixton Jamm with Craig Charles, so the funk and soul chemistry will be well and truly present. Here’s their latest single ‘You Made Us Change’.
As always, Craig Charles spins his funk n soul selections into the early hours, choosing the grooviest cuts as well as the firm crowd favourites. Everything from Sly Stone and Stevie Wonder to James Brown and Aretha Franklin finds its way into his sets, alongside more contemporary and danceable numbers.
