Bio

Orchestre Jazira was founded in London by Isaac Tagoe, a master drummer from Ghana, and its singers, bassist and percussionist are from Ghana and Sierra Leone; its guitarist, drummer and horn section are from Britain. The group's songs use the rolling rhythms and chiming guitar riffs of highlife along with other African rhythms, and occasionally have intertwining, African-style lead vocals; they also incorporate English lyrics, solos and tempo changes that suggest Western pop and reggae.
