We believe that great music needs great opportunities. Through our programming, touring activities, partnerships and creative projects, we help artists develop audiences, build professional networks and take the next step in their careers.

For decades, Band on the Wall has introduced artists to audiences in Manchester while helping many build their profile nationally and internationally.

A Platform for Discovery

We have championed artists who have gone on to achieve significant success, providing opportunities to connect with audiences during key stages of their development.

Artists including Cory Wong and Lady Blackbird have been supported by Inner City Music in the past, helping grow their presence in Manchester and nationally, strengthening their connection to UK audiences.

As an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation (NPO), Inner City Music is able to invest in ambitious artistic programmes that wouldn’t always be commercially viable. This support enables us to present and tour internationally acclaimed artists, bringing world-class music and diverse cultural experiences to Manchester and beyond.

This helps create opportunities for cultural exchange, introduce audiences to new musical traditions and allow artists to share their art with wider audiences. This helps place Manchester within an international network of artists, promoters and cultural organisations, creating opportunities for local musicians to be influenced by global sounds.
