Pharoahe Monch ‘Right Here/Simon Says’ live at Band on the Wall

New York rapper Pharoahe Monch is one of the hip hop’s most creative artists, not to mention one of it’s most versatile emcees. From his time with Prince Po in Organised Konfusion to his breakout solo record Internal Affairs in 1999, his music has been original and his flow has been complex and lyrical from the beginning, always backed by creative production, largely handled by himself with producers like Alchemist and DJ Scratch.

Here he performs two classic cuts from Internal Affairs album live at Band on the Wall, with the Ezra Collective live band and the remarkable turntablist DJ Boogie Blind. The first, an excerpt from ‘Right Here’ leading into the smash-hit, king kong sampling, world dominating rap record ‘Simon Says’.
