Over the next fifty years as the population grew ever more quickly\, Manchester began to see the rapid rise of the new factories\, soon occupying a whole area of the town and never without a willing workforce. Change happened in a way never before experienced and this new industrial revolution spawned the first major industrial city\, called by many &lsquo\;Cottonopolis&rsquo\;.
