DESCRIPTION:NEW series of 5 sessions. Get children started on the road to learning instruments and making music together and with their parents. This new project from Brighter Sound gives children aged between 4 and 8 years the chance to develop and build basic&nbsp\;and fundamental&nbsp\;musical skills in a non-formal and accessible way. The afternoon is broken into two age appropriate&nbsp\;sessions\; 1-1.50pm for children aged 4-6 and 2-2.50pm for children aged 6-8 (these age splits are flexible and up to the parent as to which one is appropriate for their child).&nbsp\;Each session&nbsp\;lasts fifty minutes with multiple activities&nbsp\;allowing some&nbsp\;time to experiment\, play around with instruments and socialise.DQUOTEReally impressed with how all kids were included. My sons were singing the 'We're here at Band on the Wall' song just yesterday and had remembered the tune and words.DQUOTE *Every child (and accompanying parent) sings and&nbsp\;collaborates on simple songs\, learns some basics on a new instrument\, builds rhythmic skills on percussion instruments and share their new music together as a group. Each week the activities take place in whole group sessions with expert tuition and active parental involvement encouraged throughout.DQUOTEIt is the close contact with real musicians in a very relaxed and playful atmosphere that engages my son.DQUOTE *Junior Jam is a 5 session mini 'course' which gives children the opportunity to learn\, progress and embed their musical skills over several weeks of structured activity. To get the maximum benefit for your child we would recommend that they attend on a regular basis over the 5 weeks. All comers are welcome to drop-in on a per-session basis.&nbsp\;Each course will be suitable for new 'starters' and have a new activity for 'regulars' to extend their skills. The early session will focus on tuned and non-tuned&nbsp\;percussion\, the late one will include ukuleles\, ocarinas and the odd harmonica.All instruments are provided. SUMMARY:A new way for children and parents to make music together at Band on the Wall. Write songs\, learn new instruments\, play drums and have some fun doing it. This is a new strand of work from Brighter Sound with expert guidance and support from vocal\, instrumental and percussion tutors. This term we will be learning to play the tuned percussion\, ukulele and the ocarina\, make up songs\, put a beat to it on percussion and perform.
