DESCRIPTION:Exploring open\, melodic compositions and expansive improvisations\, Leeds-based Ben Haskins Quartet draws influence from jazz scenes on both sides of the Atlantic\, taking inspiration from John Coltrane\, Shabaka Hutchings\, Kurt Rosenwinkel\, Mark Guiliana\, and Bill Frisell.Following the release of the 5 Track EP “Shapes Change/Colours Stay”\, Ben Haskins brings his quartet to Band on the Wall to celebrate the release. Touring guitarist with Jasmine Myra and K.O.G.\, Haskins maintains a busy performing schedule throughout the year. Playing venues and festivals both in the UK and internationally as well as a monthly residency at Leeds’ Domino Club. Notable performances include Love Supreme festival\, Glastonbury and Later with Jools Holland. As a composer\, Haskins’ releases on HPBC Records have received support from Jazzwise Magazine\, Jazz FM\, Worldwide FM\, Jazz Revelations and BBC Radio 3.
