Often referred to as Poland’s answer to The Pogues, Warsaw Village Band describe themselves as “hardcore folk” and, somewhat more enigmatically, as Polish “roots music from the ancient to the future”. Certainly on their recent tour of the USA they stunned audiences and critics alike with their ferocious playing that mixes traditional Slavic melodies and wonderful  drone harmonies with wild rhythms bordering on reggae and (dare we say it?) dance music influences. And all played out on violins, cello, hammered dulcimer, hurdy gurdy, Polish frame drum and more – Gogol Bordello eat your heart out.

This concert will begin at 9pm
