The Leisure Society + Sarabeth Tucek

  • Monday | 09.05.11
  • 7.30pm
  • Band on the Wall, Manchester
  • £11 General...

Brilliant multi-instrumentalists Leisure Society bring their lush, pastoral and utterly seductive new folk sounds to town. We love them and so will you.

The story of the Leisure Society began in Burton-Upon-Trent when Nick Hemming formed a band with Shane Meadows, Paddy Considine and Rich Eaton. Meadows and Considine would later go on to successful careers in film while Nick, in his own words, would spend a few years ‘working to support a music habit.’

The band contributed a number of scores to Meadows’ films (A Room For Romeo Brass & Dead Man’s Shoes) where they then became known as The Leisure Society.

Special guest for this concert will be Sarabeth Tucek.

This concert will begin at 8pm but our Picturehouse Cafe Bar is open for delicious food and drinks from 5.30pm. Special Offer! Book your meal in advance and get free ‘lucky dip’ tickets for a future concert – click here now for details
