Jazz music unlike anything you’ve heard before – MOBO-winners Sons Of Kemet promise a truly exhilarating performance. The colourful interplay between the instruments of these four fiercely creative musicians will have you mesmerised from the start. Led by saxophonist, clarinettist, composer and BBC New Generation Artist Shabaka Hutchings, this is a ‘supergroup’ of sorts, with Theon Cross on tuba and both Seb Rochford (Polar Bear) and Tom Skinner (Melt Yourself Down) creating hypnotic double drum rhythms.

Hailing from the murky world of the London post-jazz scene with a distinctive street music feel, the group bears influence from the dynamic vibe of New Orleans music to the percussive intricacy of West African drum music with some Caribbean dub flavours thrown in for good measure. This is a band that needs to be experienced live!

“Pasta rhythms, Middle-East and West-African melodies and straight-up rock Energy to ignite a dance floor” The Quietus

‘I strongly urge you to see this band’ – Gilles Peterson
