Band on the Wall announces partnership with Warsteiner

Warsteiner and Band on the Wall present La Brass Banda

Today Band on the Wall announced its new partnership with German beer brand Warsteiner.  The deal, which will last for three years, brings together for the first time, two brands which share an impressive musical history.

Band on the Wall has been a music venue since the 1930’s and today still plays a huge role in Manchester’s internationally renowned cultural offer. Warsteiner has an impressive track record as the premium beer brand behind many of the best and most eclectic festivals and tours across Europe and North America, including the Berlin Festival, Melt Festival and Bunbury Festival in Cincinnati.

This adds to a week of good news for the venue as Band on the Wall became the UK’s first small venue to reach Gold status for Deaf and disabled fans. The venue was awarded the recognition by representatives of Attitude is Everything, the charity that campaigns on behalf of Deaf and disabled audiences and operates a nationwide Charter of Best Practice.

To celebrate the unique partnership with Warsteiner we present the amazing, riotous and totally original LaBrassBanda, a Bavarian brass band, inspired by Youngblood Brass Band, but with added “Lederhosen” and Bavarian lyrics. They play a combination of Brass, reggae, Punk, Gibsy, Jazz and techno with a typical Bavarian note. The lyrics are about beer, girls and parties.

We’re offering Warsteiner happy hour £2 pints between 7pm and 8pm in the Picturehouse Bar.

LaBrassBanda is a Bavarian brass band, inspired by Youngblood Brass Band, but with added in “Lederhosen” and Bavarian lyrics. They play a combination of Brass, reggae, Punk, Gibsy, Jazz and techno with a typical Bavarian note. The lyrics are about beer, girls and parties.

Before 2007, no-one would probably have thought it possible this kind of outfit to stand the test of the biggest European festivals. LaBrassBanda can, and have proven it at Roskilde, Hurricane and Southside, at the Sziget, as headliners at the Chiemsee Reggae, and many others. Sure, their biggest solo show at the Olympiahalle in Munich was sheer madness as well. There, in front of 10,000 people, they demonstrated arena and stadium quality.

They cast everything that characterises them into a single song: musical skill, change of tempo and rhythm, Bavarian lyrics, extraordinary arrangement, charisma, and an energy that sweeps the audience onto their feet and dancing. We can talk and write about LaBrassBanda, however to understand them, you have to see them live.
