KATHY DYSON (CHAIR)
Dr Kathy Dyson is Senior Lecturer in Jazz at Leeds College of Music specialising in the teaching/learning of jazz improvisation and research into adaptive musical learning.  She is a professional jazz guitarist and composer and performs regularly, both regionally and nationally, with Deirdre Cartwright, in her own quartet with husband John Dyson, which plays original music and in Apitos, Dave Hassell's Latin band.  An active and committed trades unionist, Kathy is currently on the National Executive Committee of the Musicians Union and University and Colleges Union branch chair at LCM.  She is dedicated to the teaching, performing and promoting of live music generally and jazz in particular and would love for the new Band on the Wall to re-establish itself as the focal point for these activities in the North West and way beyond.
