Information

Buzzcocks at Band on the Wall on 08/11/1976 was recorded for posterity by a Richard Kedzior.

"I had been fortunate enough to attend the second Lesser Free Trade Hall gig in Manchester which featured the Sex Pistols as headliners and included the Howard Devoto fronted Buzzcocks who for my money stole the show.  For me this version of the band has remained a firm favourite to this day and culminated just recently when I managed to locate a CD copy of a recording I made of them in November 1976 on a portable cassette at the Band On The Wall club in Manchester."

Howard Devoto introduced the band as "Buzzcocks, the best in good food" - the name given to the bootleg album subsequently produced. The gig was reviewed by NME later in the month.

This is the first and one of the most well known bootleg Buzzcocks LP presenting snippets of various early live gigs and TV / Radio sessions. This is often listed as a US release but, in true bootleg fashion, this was just a ruse to avert attention from the real country of manufacture. Cover is an orange sheet (common to early bootlegs of that period) with ink-drawn caricatures of Pete and Howard Devoto (shown smoking a cigarette).
