The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club returns with a full live set by sensational deep funk, heavy soul and breaks band The Impellers live plus presenter, DJ, actor and funkster Craig Charles manning the decks 'till 3am with the planet's funkiest tunes.
The Impellers
The Impellers are a 10-piece powerhouse who bring together influences including soul, deep funk, latin and afrobeat. The band features screaming Hammond organ, true soul vocals, chicken-scratch guitars, huge horns and a rhythm section producing more energy than a Dutch wind farm. They have shared stages with some of the finest funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz and scratch DJ talent from around the world. Now one of the hottest acts on the scene, they've shared stages with the best including Marva Whitney, Breakestra, James Taylor Quartet, The Bamboos, Lack of Afro, Kid Koala, DJ Vadim, Speedometer, Part Time Heroes and The Nextmen. Expect them to burn up the stage with their knockout songs that includes brilliant funked up versions of instantly recognisable tracks by Kaiser Chiefs and The Ting Tings.
This event will begin at 9pm. Picturehouse Cafe Bar open from 5.30pm for food, drink and funk.
