New Manchester Review returns for another FREE ENTRY evening of hot new music. This time featuring the finest in "northern pop" and "heavy soul", the sharp mod pop stylings of Cheap Cuts, plus Stefan Melbourne and Songs for Walter.

With a whispering intensity for lyricism bound to simple yet robust musicality and drawing on the emotionally expressive sounds of Nick Drake and Tim Buckley, Stefan Melbourne has caught the limelight through his composite style that aligns itself with both indie-folk and country blues.

Songs for Walter is the brainchild of Laurie Hulme. Equally inspired by Lou Reed and John Cale’s “Songs For Drella”, Songs for Walter is a personal musical anecdote and homage to Hulme's late grandfather. Exuding the kind of rawness to only come from a self-produced release, Hulme explains that, “I really love lo-fi stuff, there’s something so much more honest about it. What you lose in quality you gain in character.” Signed to The Drums' Holiday Records and integral to Manchester's Red Deer Club, Songs for Walter promises to be one of the most exciting songwriting projects in the city today.

Plus NMR DJs, spinning as always an eleclectic mix of vinyl-only tunes right into the night.
