Formerly Rachel Unthank & The Winterset, their album The Bairns was nominated for the 2008 Mercury Music Award. Centred around the Unthank sisters, with an expanded line-up including string quartet and percussion, their modern take on traditional folk ballads is both beautiful and original. Tour support comes from rising songwriter Jonny Kearney and his Kentish accomplice Lucy Farrell.
