Information

Testimony are three singers performing joyful music inspired by African Gospel, Congolese dance music & American R&B. Testimony are led by Emmanuela Yogolelo, a leading member of Beating Wing Orchestra, whose performance with Amadou and Mariam was a sensation at Manchester International Festival 2009.

Testimony are also part of a larger collective of women from across Central Africa, who first came together for mutual support through their struggles to make a life as immigrants in the UK.

Very soon, they discovered they all loved to sing gospel. "Testimony is not just a group of singers. We are a gathering of women, who are convinced that we can make the world around us a better place for mothers and children. For Testimony, music is more than a beautiful melody or rhythm, it is a language common to all people. Music teaches us how to tolerate and appreciate others. It speaks directly to the heart. We can only give what we have and our gift is the message of our music and our faith.

This event will begin at 7.30pm. Picturehouse Cafe Bar open for drinks and delicious meals from 5pm.
