Band on the Wall and Jazz FM present the kings of tropical jazz funk Azymuth followed by Jazz FM DJs Mike Vitti and Mike Chadwick taking the funk into the early hours for this very special Funky Sensation club night.
Azymuth have been making funk jazz infused with samba and other tropical rhythms since the early 70s. Inventors of Samba Doido (Crazy Samba), this Brazilian electric three-piece consistently turn out electrifying performances of sun-drenched funk and hot jazz that sear the soul. Following their incandescent set during our opening season last year we warmly welcome these legends back to The Band. Followed by a late night funk party featuring Jazz FM's Mike Vitti and Mike Chadwick at the decks until the early hours.
This event will begin at 9pm but Picturehouse Cafe Bar open for delicious food and drinks from 5.30pm.
A Funky Sensation Event
Funky Sensation does exactly what it says on the tin. It captures that funky sensation feeling inside you. Featuring the greatest music in soul and funk it also captures the groovy sounds of jazz and funky house. Having gained great success in London, Funky Sensation is now bringing it's vibe to Manchester at Band on the Wall.
