The devastating earthquake in Haiti has affected the lives of millions of people in the western hemisphere’s poorest country.

Enormous humanitarian assistance is required to ensure survivors get food, clean water, emergency shelter, medical care and other support.

To generate urgently needed funds, the legendary Eyes Down are returning after an extended hiatus with a very special event in aid of the Disasters Emergency Committee Haiti appeal, featuring:

Eyes Down residents are joined by some of the greatest underground DJs from Manchester, and beyond, for this special event.

BULLION has been causing a stir with his wonky take on hip hop. His decidedly left-of-centre productions have been likened to Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Rustie and the rest, but truly his records are in a league of their own. His DJ sets have received great acclaim from fans of futuristic and dusty records alike, famously taking in everything from the most cutting edge electronic sounds, to golden era hip hop, soul and afrobeat. We're very, very excited to have him here!

ZERO-7 need little introduction for fans of down-tempo music. Mercury and Grammy award nominees, they are music fans as much as music makers. Their 'Another Late Night' compilation featured the likes of Sylvia Striplin, Slum Village and Leroy Hudson. Expect them to be digging deep into inspirations old and new for this very fare Manchester DJ appearance.

THE UNABOMBERS The brains behind the now legendary Electric Chair night, these stalwarts of the Manchester club scene are guaranteed crowd pleasers. Since they decided to end their regular party in Manchester, they have toured the world - and produced a string of club hits - as the Elecktrons, but their hometown club dates have been increasingly rare. This will be their first appearance at the re-opened Band on the Wall.

JON-K and KELVIN BROWN famously have an approach to music that is as uncompromising as it is broad. Their sets take in everything from soul, folk and reggae, to hip hop, 2-step, Detroit house and dubstep, marking Eyes Down as one the most respected underground music nights in the country. They received critical acclaim in the form of the City Life DJs of the Year Award, and a monthly residency at the world renowned Plastic People club in London. During Eyes Down's hiatus, they have performed across the world, including massive sets at the Big Chill, Exodus and Garden festivals (Croatia).

HOYA HOYA's ILLUM SPHERE and JONNY DUB. A relative new kid on the Manchester block, Hoya Hoya is already attracting attention with its fresh approach to new electronic music. An all-encompassing music policy takes in grime, dubstep, dancehall, hip hop, electronica and beyond, setting Hoya Hoya apart from many of the narrow, genre specific nights that dominate the contemporary club scene.

Illum Sphere is increasingly recognized for his production abilities on Fat City Records. With radio plays by Mary-Ann Hobbs on Radio One and Benji B on One Extra, and a recent storming remix of Martyn, he's one to watch for 2010.

TY’s 20 year involvement in the British hip hop scene has seen him work with everyone from Fela Kuti's drummer Tony Allen to De La Soul and Roots Manuva, and led to his fantastic album closer being nominated for the Mercury Music Award. For this special event he will be joining the dots on the mic.

All artists are providing their services for free, so EVERY PENNY of the money raised will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee Haiti appeal. It goes without saying that this is an incredibly important cause, so please do everything you can to support it.
