Information

The astonishingly gifted pianist Rachel Z first came to the attention of the international jazz world with her acclaimed collaboration with saxophone great Wayne Shorter on his hit album High Life. A classically trained pianist and free experimenter with electronics and synthesised sound, her trio's sets include jazz-morphed versions of classics by artists as diverse as  Sound Garden, Nirvana, Sade, Steely Dan, Smashing Pumpkins, Seal, Peter Gabriel, and Johnny Cash. In 2003 her album Moon At The Window, consisting of instrumental jazz interpretations of Joni Mitchell compositions, received universal praise.

Band on the Wall is delighted to announce a very special collaborative performance with the amazing Omar Hakim on drums under the band moniker Trio Of Oz. Hakim rose to fame in the 80s as one of the world's greatest percussionist having done most of the drum work on Dire Strait's landmark album Brothers In Arms and Sting's critically-acclaimed first solo album, The Dream of the Blue Turtles. He has also worked with Miles Davis, Madonna, Weather Report, Anita Baker, Chic, Mariah Carey and countless others. Unmissable.
