Mon 7th December 2009
Mixing catchy baroque pop licks with an intoxicating blend of Brazilian beats, Bacharach and Brian Wilson, Sean O'Hagan and company set the bar high and surpass it every time. With a love for mixing modular synths and lo fi electronica with sweeping string arrangements, jazzy guitar and harps, The High Llamas are a Beach Boys for the beep generation. Support comes from Manchester's Starless and Bible Black who stir torch song, bluesy chanson and vintage folk-jazz with early electronic music influences.
This concert begins at 8pm.
