Information

Thea Gilmore presents her very own take on winter and Christmas in a special acoustic evening.

Internationally acclaimed, hailed as a favourite by artistes including Bruce Springsteen and Martha Wainwright, and described by the Independent as "the best wordsmith of her generation" Thea Gilmore is back in town with a festive show that bears her own highly individual stamp.

Thea will be showcasing her unique, breathtaking vocals performing brand new original songs with a seasonal bias, taken from her new album "Strange Communion" which is released to coincide with the tour.  She'll also be throwing in unlikely cover versions of Christmas songs, both familiar and less well known.

"Wintertide" is a show guaranteed to think outside the box on Christmas and all its trimmings. Thea will be joined by Nigel Stonier on lead guitar and Fluff on fiddle, viola and cello.  The show will also feature spoken word pieces and some seasonal madness.

Support comes from Rob Clements whose biography reads like a who's who of folk having started out co-founding Geordie legends Lindisfarne as well as playing with Ralph McTell, Bert Jansch and Michael Chapman amongst many others.

This concert will begin at 8pm.
