Bio

My name is Gloria Lopez Castejon and I am from Cartagena (Spain). I started dancing when I was little and have loved dancing since then. I have a classical ballet background which is something I found very useful when I started dancing flamenco around 10 years ago. I took classes with Antonia Ramos (Cartagena), Miguel Angel Serrano (Murcia) and Daniel Valera (Murcia) and regularly atended flamenco workshops. When I moved to Manchester, in 2007, I started receiving classes from Araceli Garcia alongside Glenn Sharp (Guitar). Since 2010 I have been teaching flamenco at the Dancehouse in Manchester, something I really enjoy. I also dance for various charity events in the Manchester area. I love the diversity of the different “palos” of flamenco with their different origins but mainly how they can reflect such a wide variety of emotions.
